Varnishing technique called a dip and bake is a standard action where the motor windings are dipped into a varnish tank (liquid epoxy) and then set to completely cure in an oven by using heat. Depends on the size of the motor the whole dipping process could take from 10 to 30 minutes.
Varnish can protect high voltage machines such as transformers, motors and generators from electrical failure. They are applied over electrical conductors to provide a layer of electrical isolation and prevent shorting.
